So here’s one for the mousers. (Applies to Windows 7 with Aero themes )
- Right-click on an empty spot on the desktop
- In the context menu that opens, select “New”
- Select “Shortcut”
- A “Create Shortcut” dialog will open
- Enter the following for the location of the item:
%windir%\System32\rundll32.exe DwmApi #105 - Click “Next”
- Enter a name such as “Flip 3D Shortcut”.
- Click “Finish”
- Those who wish can assign a new icon to the shortcut as described here
- Drag the new shortcut that you have just created and pin it to the taskbar or put it in any convenient location
To open a Flip 3D display of all your open windows, click the shortcut. Use the scroll button on the mouse to flip through the different windows. Click a window to bring it to the forefront. Click an empty spot on the desktop if you just want to close the display.
If you are wondering what Flip 3D looks like, an example is shown in the figure below. Remember that you have to be using Aero and have the necessary graphical support for Flip 3D to work.
