The recently launched Social media site Pinterest has managed to attract the attention of a lot of people and brands.
According to a new research done by BlogHer, women are totally in love with Pinterest, and they trust the site content even more than the posts they see on social networking sites such as Facebook andTwitter.
BlogHer surveyed over a thousand women across the 3,000 blogs in its network, and collected data from a representative sample of women across the U.S. to discover their social media likes and dislikes.
Around 81 percent of those surveyed stated that they trusted Pinterest. In comparison, only 73 percent of women trusted the tweets they read on Twitter and only 67 percent of the surveyed women trusted the social networking giant Facebook.
Not just this, Pinterest is also the social network of choice when it comes to getting product information, and finding out about new products. In the study, 47 percent of respondents said that they have made a purchase decision based on a recommendation they saw on Pinterest, while only 33 percent made purchases based on Facebook recommendations and only 31 percent based on a tweet.
Pinterest has no doubt emerged as a winner in the social networking space, and may soon turn out to be an indispensable social media platform for marketers and retailers.
So, what you guys think? Do you prefer hanging out on Pinterest more than Twitter and Facebook these days? Share your ideas in the comments and find out more about this study in the SlideShare presentation below.
